Your blog at /b/<handle>

Publish approved articles to a blog elessar hosts for you, with nothing to install.

Every organisation has a blog on elessar, ready to use. Choose an address, press "Publish to your site" on an approved article, and it is live at tryelessar.com/b/your-handle, with its sources listed under it and a feed other tools can read. It is the fastest way from an approved article to a page people can visit.

Choose your address

Go to Settings → Your website. The first card is your blog on elessar: choose an address there, short, lower case, the name people know you by. Only an owner can choose it. The card then says where your blog is live and what was published to it last. Your feed is at the same address ending in feed.xml.

Settings → Your website with the blog's address chosen

Publish an article

Open an approved article and press "Publish to your site". Confirm, and the page says "Published to your site." with a link to the article. It appears on your blog at once, newest first, with its featured image if it has one, and its sources at the end.

Only an approved article can be published. If the button is not there, approve the article first.

Update or remove it

  • If you edit the article after publishing, the button becomes "Update on your site". Press it and the blog shows the new text.
  • To take it down, press the same button and choose "Remove it from your site?". The article stays in elessar; only the public page goes.
  • Putting an article back under Needs you also takes it off your site.

Share the address

Your blog is public: anyone with the link can read it, signed in or not, and search engines can index it. Link to it from your own site's navigation, or share an article's address directly. Each article has its own address: your blog's address, then a slash, then the article's slug.

Your own domain

Today the address is on tryelessar.com. If your site runs on WordPress, Webflow, Wix, Sanity, Ghost or GitHub, connect it instead and the articles publish into your own site. If a developer looks after your site, the content API and the MCP bring the articles into any site.

If it goes wrong

  • "Your site needs an address": no handle has been chosen yet. An owner chooses one under Settings → Your website.
  • The article is published but a change is not showing: press "Update on your site" after saving the edit. Publishing does not follow edits by itself.
  • The feed shows nothing: nothing has been published yet, or the handle in the address is wrong.
