Your team, and updates in Telegram or Slack

Invite colleagues with a role, work across clients, and get a message in chat when an article is ready.

You do not have to do it alone. Settings → Team invites people by email with a role that says what they may do, and Settings → Integrations can send a message to your Telegram group or Slack channel when an article is ready or a run fails, so nobody has to watch the screen.

Roles

  • Owner: everything, including the plan, billing and the team.
  • Editor: writes, approves and publishes for the brands they are given.
  • Viewer: reads drafts and sources; cannot approve.

Only an owner can change who is on the team or what role they have.

Invite someone

Go to Settings → Team, type their email, choose a role, and press the button. They get an email saying they have been added, with a link to sign in. If they do not have an account yet, signing in with that address makes one. Their name appears in the table with their role, which an owner can change in place.

More than one brand

An agency, or a business with more than one brand, uses one organisation per brand. The client switcher at the top of the sidebar moves between them; "Add a client" makes a new one and walks through its setup. Each organisation has its own brand profile, projects, articles, plan and credits, and its own team. Being an owner of one does not make you anything in another.

Updates in chat

Go to Settings → Integrations and find "Updates in chat".

  • Telegram: message BotFather on Telegram, create a bot with /newbot, and paste the token it gives you. Add the bot to your group or channel, then paste the group's id (it starts with a minus sign) or the channel's name with the @. Press Save; elessar checks that the bot exists and can see the chat before it keeps anything.
  • Slack: in Slack, create an app with Incoming Webhooks turned on, add a webhook to the channel, and paste its URL. Saving posts one "connected" line to the channel, because Slack offers no other way to check a webhook.

From then on the chat gets a line when an article is ready, with a link, and a line when a run fails, with the reason. The email notices carry on as before.

If it goes wrong

  • The invited person cannot see the organisation: they signed in with a different email address. Invite the one they use.
  • The Telegram test fails: the bot is not in the group yet, or the chat id is wrong. Groups start with a minus sign; channels use the @name.
  • Slack posted "connected" and nothing since: no article has finished since. Write one and watch the channel.
